so they say the Earth, its life and nature is fragile and under the threat of global warming, what can I do about it?

The idea is to sail under sail as often and as long as possible rather than sail fast which can be done much easier with a powerboat! From La Rochelle tothe Island of Yeu (very pretty though) it is 60 NM, this would take from 6 to 15 hours weather permitting but sometimes we would call in Les Sables and not get there because of lack of wind or bad weather. The engine is turned on to berth only or in case of emergency.

Rather than rudely fight the ocean, we glide gently over the water with respect. Weather changes are frequent enough and sometimes dramatic, I think it's not necessary to punch in volontary. In case of a gale warning I don't sail or squeeze into a harbour to wait and let it pass.

Rather than consumme, the idea is to observe, learn to DIY, live at the rythm of the sea (wind, tide and stars) and accept to be frustrated by ocean, weather and time. Choose to live frugally : there are no frige, freezer, TV or dvd player on board so we can stay in tune with Nature and ourselves for a convivial experience.
